Magic Moments® Portal

Our Magic Moments Portal was created and has been developed by us for the benefit of our residents. It provides rich ‘on demand’ content to support our activity programme and is available to our team and residents where and when they want it. It brings new ideas, fun and entertainment, learning opportunities and offers a chance to travel virtually to places familiar and new. By moving to electronic activity and well-being reporting, our Magic Moments team are able to spend more time on individualised activities.

 The portal is built around several key areas: memory spotlight, holistic sessions, quizzes and games, live events, music and singing and special events that regularly take place in the home.

Reminiscence activities are an important part of our programme and the portal’s Memory Spotlight area gives our Magic Moments coordinators a library of favourite tunes and film clips to play that both entertain and provide interesting topics of discussion for residents, the team and visitors to the home. There’s also a weekly Magic Moments Magazine containing pictures and information about key moments that happened ‘on this day’ in years gone by.

The Holistic Sessions include expert-led videos with classes in movement & fitness, yoga and relaxation activities to help improve physical mobility and mental stimulation. Live web cam feeds allow residents to take a peek into wildlife habitats and even watch our world from space as the International Space Station orbits the earth.

Quizzes and Games help to keep the mind agile as well as being great sociable fun. Designed to be accessible to everyone, the picture-led activities certainly keep our residents entertained and bring out their competitive spirit!

Our exclusive Live Events include the opportunity to explore far-flung places with a knowledgeable local guide who will answer any questions during the tour. We believe it’s never too late to learn something new and residents can also choose to take part in exercise and singing and dancing classes, join a photography tutorial or learn to speak French or Spanish.

There’s truly something for everyone with our fun and informative tutorial and video sessions covering all sorts of interests from arts & crafts, baking, gardening, music and film, singing and dancing to calligraphy and croquet.  We are able to provide this rich diversity of activities by working closely with specialists and partners. And for a little downtime after all their activities, what better way to relax than by enjoying a cuppa and tuning in to the sounds of our very own Four Seasons and brighterkind radio station? The weekly programme provides bespoke content, dedications and music specially for our residents.
